In my recent Amplify Impact: Women’s Leadership Training, I had the privilege of guiding a group of talented and passionate women through a powerful journey of self-awareness and growth. One of the most transformative parts of our time together was exploring how different leadership styles shape communication, relationships, and results—and how expanding beyond one’s natural tendencies can elevate effectiveness across diverse teams and situations.
Understanding Leadership Through a Broader Lens
We began by looking at how style and behavioral preferences influence the way leaders think, decide, and collaborate. Participants explored questions like:
- What is your primary leadership style and strength?
What qualities of leadership presence do you want to refine?
How do you want others to experience you as a leader?
As they uncovered their own patterns, each woman gained a clearer picture of her strengths, communication style, and potential blind spots. The insights were immediate and personal—many described “aha” moments as they recognized dynamics that had shaped their workplace relationships for years.
Flexing for Greater Impact
Leadership effectiveness often depends on flexibility—the ability to adjust one’s approach to better connect with others. Through interactive discussions and real-world practice, participants experimented with adapting their style to meet teammates who think, decide, and communicate differently.
For example:
- A decisive leader learned to slow down and invite input from quieter team members.
- An expressive leader practiced active listening to help analytical colleagues feel heard.
- A supportive leader realized that stepping into a more decisive role could help her team move forward with greater confidence.
From Self-Awareness to Empowered Leadership
What made this training so rewarding was watching participants not only gain insight but apply it in real time. They began identifying moments in their daily work where small behavioral adjustments could make their leadership more inclusive and effective.
As one participant shared, “I used to think leadership meant being consistent with my natural style. Now I see the real power is in knowing when to flex and meet others where they are.”
The Ripple Effect of Self-Aware Leadership
When women leaders cultivate both self-understanding and agility, they become catalysts for healthier, more dynamic workplaces. The Amplify Impact program is built on this belief: that leadership growth begins with awareness and expands through intentional practice and empathy.
By learning to lead with greater adaptability and connection, participants didn’t just discover more about themselves—they discovered how to amplify their impact.
